Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento) is a hosted and open-source product and is one of the biggest website builders today, with major blue-chip brands like Nike and Cisco among its roster of clients. The Adobe Commerce environment is also scalable, however, it does require some coding knowledge to maximize. The platform has a lot of customization options and offers trigger-based automated marketing features and automatic cross-selling and upselling features.

Magento is a great software for big online business. You can easily get what you want to be in your website. No need to install too much plugins because it was already there, you just need to ON/OFF it, easy updating, uploading and execution of promos but ofcourse it really needs a skilled and knowledgeable person to handle this cause it was so complex.
After 5 minutes I'm already signed out. I have an experience while updating one image of our item due to net connection then I was redirected to log in and so happen that my uploaded photo didn't updated, sadly I need to begin again nevertheless this software is great!
Once our dev team accidentally upload wrong pricing in our products but within a couple of minutes they solve it and immediately reflects in our website
Magento has allowed us to start with one website, and scale up to multiple brands, websites and products all under one system.
Bugs, bugs, bugs! Magento is a very powerful tool but can take a big toll on you with all the bugs you need to fix. While some of them will be our fault, there are a lot of basic things that need to be fixed every week or two.
While having a very large learning curve, Magento has a extensive library of extensions that allowed us to customize and launch our website a lot faster than if we had to build it from scratch.
I like how everything is organized and easy to use and move things around.
Sometimes it is super slow after an upload and it can take forever to save products
Having all of our product information in one place.
I like its ability to export large quantities of data in a quick and efficient way. The data can also be manipulated for your benefit in so many different ways.
I dislike that the pro version is so expensive yet has the tools we would like to use for our benefit.
We use MBI to report all of our sales taxes, as well as, use it as a source of order fulfillment through the ability to export purchased products.
The functions you can complete in Magento are really powerful. You can build a website, manage all your products & categories, create promotions, store files, send transactional emails and more. Everything you need to run an e-commerce website is available in Magento.
It is a difficult product to learn and navigate initially. The WYSIWYG editor is not simple; links will break unless edited directly in the HTML. The file system is incredibly clunky and feels like it is suck in the early 2000's. It is easier to store images elsewhere when possible and reference them when needed. Creating promotions is easy, but there needs to be better organization that's more sophisticated than just sorting.
We run the entire e-commerce business using Magento, from the website, to product management, to sending transactional emails after purchase (we use a separate email program for our promo emails and campaigns).
The amount of data accessible and the reporting functions. You can get a candid view on products on hand, web order statuses, highest selling products, etc.
The interface is okay. Would ideally prefer a more friendly user interface but overall it gets the job done and covers most of it's bases.
We are using Magento to handle all of our front end hosting for our web site. Great way to take in web orders and works in conjunctions with our other software systems.
is really easy going, functional, and doesn't require extensive training or preparation to use it.
it's a bit dull on the image, it could even makes you fell asleep once in a while
with him we manage our cupons and discounts, is really helpuful for an ecomerce platform.
The way this all works together and the information that comes into the CRM and Inventory products.
The lack of training videos showing the way to ensure this all connects effectively.
Our online store. We would like to understand the analytics and SEO a bit more.
Magento is a web platform that delivers a great storefront that can be customized with a variety of different plugins and integrated features.
The search function on the front of the magento shop is very temperamental.
We have created a website that can take payments along with displaying our products in a user friendly manner.
Scalable is an understatement. We use a single install to run 3 stores and allow them to share products and inventory across the board. Endless modifications make this the most scalable platform as far as I'm concerned
Hire a developer, keep them close. It's easy to screw up if you're not well versed in code.
The use of magento saves me over $1000/mo compared to using pre hosted services. A few thousand was spent on setup, and the recurring monthly cost is only around $100
The magento system allows for full control over an entire back end of an online store. They way that you can add products and categories seamlessly with your payment gateway is fantastic.
The only let down is the very basic promotions section which does not allow for specific pricing rules such as buy 2 for £500 etc.
The Magento system has optimized the way our webstore works
Strong user community and ease of getting programmers that know the platform. This can really help for smaller groups that need to outsource their IT budget. The system is very flexible and a competent PHP/MySQL programmer can do just about anything. The multi-language capabilities are impressive. I have found some powerful offline administrative applications like Store Manager for Magento. The set up is a bit difficult but the benefits are worth it.
There are many, many configurable options so it can take some time to get used to things. It's also hard to find useful extensions that have a trial period to see if it's right for you. The system requires powerful hosting capabilities so a simple share hosting solution will not do. That's VERY important. Without proper hosting and configuration, Magento will be a dog. The Community Edition in particular benefits enormously from hosting that has APC and Varnish built in to speed things up.
Powerful ecommerce solution with low initial cost of entry. Have used this with small groups to build robust solutions that can be multi-language enabled.
The back end admin panel UI of Magento is a no brainer. Once you have learned the basics (I suggest taking a basic training course offered by Magento U) manipulating the front end website is effortless. Do you want multiple websites to track specific campaigns? Magento can do that. How about adding Email to a Friend, gift cards, PayPal payment options, or reward points? Flip the switch to On, and you're done. I have a basic knowledge of HTML coding, which helps with certain aspects of our Magento configuration (such as developing CMS pages), but I can implement many cool features with no coding necessary. There are multiple plugins that can be used to make Magento even more amazing, many of which are free. You can connect certain ESPs to Magento to send branded, targeted drip campaigns and triggered emails using your customer's purchasing and browsing behaviors. You can add social media widgets, create mobile versions of your site, develop customized themes, and so much more. I am in the marketing department, not IT, yet I was able to learn this system very quickly.
We have the Enterprise version of Magento, which is not cheap. When paying $20K per year for a platform, I expect a certain level of service. The Enterprise service level is "Gold", and the Enterprise Premium service level, is "Platinum". I understand that those customers are paying double what we are, but that shouldn't mean that all of our service requests and trouble tickets get ignored or responded to many days later. Magento's tech support team can come across as lackadaisical or condescending in their responses.
Our web traffic and ROI have increased considerably over the past two years. It will only improve as we start using more of the marketing features that Magento offers.
support of magento commerce is very good , code deployment , enterprises edition quicker than community, 24*7 phone support
pricing is high, compare to other platforms like shopify
their support will always help you if you stuck somewhere.
The options that it has and the multitude of it
That it blocks or does not process the payments correctly/ refunds
Pandora for business support/ billing subscriptions
