"Finally, a blog platform that isn't hampered by conventions"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

Butter's power lies in it's simplicity. The blog creation UI is simple and easy-to-use, without layer upon layer of nested menus to dig through. It makes it easy for my marketers to set up blogs and have confidence that they will pass along all SEO data and even their custom formatting. As a front end developer, it's made my life so much easier! I was able to use their node module to pull in all of our blogs and build out static pages like magic! Plus, they use webhooks, so our site will do a new build when our marketers are done publishing their posts. The documentation and support are really top-notch, as well!

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

I think the UI for blog creation is pretty basic, and could do with some upgrades.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Butter to host and serve my company's blog data as JSON. Upon pulling my data using their API, I marry that data into a base blog-template and generate static files for each of my blog pages. This way I'm able to easily stand up all of my blog pages in the same format and they are all crawled for their individual SEO tags.

"Great for Bloggers Looking to Improve on SEO!"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

Butter has a seamless and simple interface that's very intuitive to work with. It's been a lot easier to optimize posts for SEO as well. Not to mention, the team is extremely helpful and very quick to respond to any difficulties you may come across when using the software!

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

If anything, I'd love to be able to put captions under my photos but I know they're working on including that as well.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're solving for SEO optimization and a quick and seamless formatting process with our blog content. Butter has been great for both!

"Butter is my go-to in-app blog platform"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

Whenever I need a blog, I reach for Butter. It has the 80% of functionality that people want, and the other 20% is coming along nicely - they are quite responsive to feature requests. For example, I asked them to add code formatting and it happened within a month. You can build the CMS into your application visually so, from a front-end perspective, there is no differentiation possible between your content and your app. No-brainer.

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

If they could provide a better visual blog editor, that would be helpful.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

An in-app blog. It 100% satisfies that.

If a polished and well-designed interface is a top priority for you, Butter CMS might leave you wanting. It's functional but lacks the aesthetic finesse seen in other CMS options.

Highly Adaptable, Ideal for Tailored Websites : Butter CMS offers good flexibility, making it a versatile choice for creating customized websites. Its robust features are particularly advantageous for developers seeking to craft tailored and unique online platforms.

"Butter CMS - Excellent Content Management"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

One of the standout features of Butter CMS is its incredible ease of use. The user-friendly interface and intuitive content editor make it a breeze for team members, regardless of their technical expertise, to create and edit content.

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

While Butter CMS offers an impressive range of features, it may not be the most budget-friendly option for smaller businesses or individuals. However, the return on investment in terms of time saved and content quality is well worth it. Also, if based outside of US-hours support is not always available.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

The simplicity of Butter CMS has streamlined our content creation process, allowing us to focus on the message rather than the medium.

"Great CMS for our online travel agency"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

Very easy to use for our needs as a travel agency, their customer support is very reactive when we had issues to resolve. We use it daily and would not change it as it allows to display content fast and efficiently.

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

We can't access to our dafts versions, but the support helped us recover it.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

For us, ButterCMS us used to manage our contents as a travel agency. For the blog sections and trips info, we use different workspaces on butter which enable us to upload contents in a very easy and smooth way. Before, we were using Wordpress which showed it limits, ButterCMS gave us more freedom in what we could and wanted to do.

"Clean, elegant and powerful"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

The simplicity of the interface makes managing content easy for our staff. The separation of web content from code greatly simplified our development workflow and server management. Support and documentation are excellent!

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

The blog posts section makes for quick migration from Wordpress but lacks the ability to customize, so we had to build our articles using pages instead. Component picker is very powerful in pages but wish we could do something similar in collections.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Posting content for core pages, articles and products for our website. Clean separation of content from styles and website code. Full control to develop our own clean api for our content. Freedom to not worry about server management for our content. No more constant updates and testing of Wordpress plugins and updates!

"Simplicity at its best"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

Butter CMS has really helped in providing flexibility in updating our website content without any tech intervention. The interface is seamless and very easy to configure. Moreover, customer service is very prompt to fix any issue or to understand any features. You can totally rely on butter for all your CMS needs. The configuration interface of butter is very flexible and easy to understand.

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

1. Butter has been a massive help in updating our marketing side without tech intervention, however, there is one thing where we have faced challenges. When we update any collection content, we have to publish the parent page where the collection is used to ensure the updated content shows on a live environment. We use caching, so the cache doesn’t clear if the parent page is not published. When you don’t know how many places a collection has been used it gets challenging. 2. Having separate instances of ButterCMS for different environments such as development, staging, and production can prove advantageous. Although it is possible, currently there is no straightforward method for promoting or synchronizing one development environment to the next. Implementing a diff tool to show changes from one save to the next would make the process more manageable.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using Buttercms for content management. It is helping us design schema for various components which can be easily created on butter with validations and proper informative text.

"A great tool to create and manage content for the company's website."
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

Great tool for creating and managing content for the company's website. We can build new pages and update the old ones in several clicks. The process reminds playing with blocks :)

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

We want more tracking on our existing components' usage and on which pages they are already placed. However, this issue was addressed to the Butter team, who are trying to find a solution.

"Excellent tool and amazing support!"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

ButterCMS is endlessly configurable. Over the past year, our team of engineers has developed dozens of custom components within Butter to support a variety of user experiences and interface options. In addition, our business users have quickly learned how to use the tool and set up countless web pages with little to no development support required.

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

There are some quirks to the tool that can result in users having to duplicate efforts across multiple pages. For example, it is not as easy as you'd think to clone a page and make small variations for other versions of that page. Sometimes it requires you to rebuild elements of the page again instead of just leveraging what you already have. Not having a live preview of your changes to the UI can also require several rounds of publishing / republishing to get right.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

ButterCMS has been a game-changer for our business. Rather than relying on developers to make all site changes, this tool has empowered our business users to more fully own site merchandising.

"Butter is a great choice for headless CMS"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

Butter CMS is very easy to use the built-in API client make calling the API a breeze. As an architect, butter cms gives me more flexibility to use the cms as in ways that can not be used in a traditional CMS like WordPress. A good example is hybrid apps, we let parts of the website to be updated by butter (ie. button names, heading, wording for a page) this allows our business to do a change without any downtime to our clients. Also, Butter CMS allows us to build very reusable view components that can be added to the website without coding, just some very simple configuration on our end.

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

*Not dislike or deal-breakers but my wish-list that I believe would take ButterCMS to the next level* The write API if very lacking and not part of ButterCMS API Client, and documentation is not there yet(if you understand API shouldn't be a trouble for you). We were able to get things to work, but it was a lot of frustration at times. Repeater needs to be able to have repeaters a list of lists of lists of objects. If you think of Components as objects and Repeaters as List then you will understand why a user would want of list of objects or a list of lists. These two above make it hard to create things like dynamic tables, or questionnaires. The references tool is too much clicking, especially for non-technical people. a good example. I want a repeater that has a component in it <- this is powerful, that can be used to make a table, or layouts, because now you have a List<T>, ICollection<T>. This is very important to a dev to make very dynamic content. -Below are nice to have- Needs a built-in Site Map component. Needs a built-in Navigation component. Needs SEO for pages, just like how the Blog works (it's very useful). Write API for the ButterCMS Client. Still Good Work.

"Butter Review"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

It's a simple and quick way to share blog entries! My favorite feature of ButterCMS is the ability to schedule posts so that I can remain on top of all of my responsibilities. ButterCMS' ability to schedule out content allows me to plan ahead for future content.

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

ButterCMS has a lot of excellent features, however one thing I'd want to have modified is the font sizes of header 1 and header 2 so they don't seem so similar once the blog is published. When I'm reading posts all day, it's often difficult for me to recognize the difference between the headers because the sizes are so similar aesthetically.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

We can publish high-quality blog content on our website, and ButterCMS allows us to make our blogs look professional and well-organized, with no visual difficulties.

"A great headless CMS for producing content at scale"
What do you like best about Butter CMS?

If you want to create content that looks good, fast, Butter is for you. If you produce a lot of articles, formatting and designing each one is laborious and wastes a lot of time, time that could be spent planning, strategising, tracking, or just enjoying a cup of coffee now and then.

What do you dislike about Butter CMS?

If you want to create more dynamic content that is, for instance, interactive, Butter is somewhat limited.

What problems is Butter CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Butter takes the hassle out of posting content, streamlining a lot of processes and not chucking a million bells and whistles in your face. Can highly recommend for any individual or start-up looking to get their content strategy on the road.
