Celonis is very intuitive and user-friendly which certainly helps during onboarding process. As a person unfamiliar with any reporting/ analytical language (nor PQL), I was able to construct pretty complex analysis, surprisingly quickly! Of course, I did it with precious support of Celonis team, PQL library and the community forum - I find these sources extremely helpful. Even though I'm only starting to discover the Action Engine and Process Automation segments, I see great potential in them - especially when I consider the fact that I can develop improvements myself. What I also appreciate in Celonis is that it's very stable, I've never experienced any system break-down. Overall, Celonis gives the unique experience of transparent visibility of the digital footprint which is simply amazing.
The only downside that I can think of is that Celonis doesn't have any limited UI version that could be used to share selected information with external stakeholders.
Celonis provides me visibility of digital footprints that I didn't have before, providing along the process duration which eventually lets me decide which processes need to be optimized. It allows me to analyze big set of data in an effective way. Most importantly, it allows me develop automation initiatives that optimize the processes.
Changes or customizing of the process analytics definitions can be done rapidly and verified with the whole dataset without the IT department. Implementation time is very short. In our company, it was not possible to have one overview about detail scheduling and the process from the production order handling until the usage decision and later on to the delivery. The system structure with 4 different SAP systems avoid benchmark between the production locations. In the beginning it was very difficult because we had to get used to the functionality of the tool first. The product itself is great and already in standard implementation does provide excellent inside into processes and non-expected outcome.
Sometimes I need more personally contact.(F2F) Hard to keep track If you don't spend your full working day with Celonis.
The Tool is used in the company in the past only for financial analyses and some cases in the supply chain. We have the situation, that we have to harmonize our processes in the production but we doesn`t have a complete overview about all production sites worldwide. The data mining and the Harmonization from the processes is the key to change from the current SAP R3 system to the S4 Hana system. We want to use the tool to avoid / reduce variances in the future.
Celonis is incredibly user friendly and enabled our organization to become more agile. We use this tool to transform our data into actionable tasks and are constantly updating the dashboards as we improve as an organization. It has allowed us to keep raising the bar to better service our customers. Celonis has brought so much visibility to our data that would never have been possible without this tool. We can drive to the true root cause of our process gaps with ease.

We have been able to examine our processes and uncover how we could eliminate waste, increase our On-Time Delivery rate, improve customer satisfaction and be more aligned as a Supply Chain. We can now quickly spot process gaps, implement solutions, and monitor their control plan directly in the tool. Pre- Celonis, we would talk about KPI's - but now we can take meaningful actions to improve our business. Celonis has helped us develop a very clear project pipeline and it has brought us closer as an organization by breaking down silos and allowing our whole team to view unemotional data at face value. Celonis has enabled us to go from firefighting to see clear lines of accountability at all steps in our Order-to-Cash process. Lastly, we have been able to turn almost everything into a KPI that can be tracked and managed, so at the management level - we know exactly where we have value leakage - and exactly what steps we need to take to close the gaps.
I like that Celonis offers insights about my company's ERP data. As an admin, I have been learning how to create custom analyses and I like the fact that Celonis offers a codebase where these can be even more customized. Even better, the QA environment was very easy to copy our Event Collection and Process Analytics over.
I have not enough experience to have any dislikes, but I had a bit of trouble when the courses were changed so that my old training was removed. It was discouraging, but I had only taken a couple courses, so I did not mind having to retake them. It only reinforced my knowledge of the process mining building process.
We are able to gain great insights across our ERP data that we had problems achieving in the past. And it is very easy to generate the custom analyses we require. The platform is very recognizable when comparing to other platforms I have used.
The action engine. Data analysis and insights are one thing, but taking action on data is where value is realized.

Process mining was a new concept within ASICS, as a very traditional company running on operational data the aim with Celonis was to find insights into end to end process inefficiencies. This was to go hand in hand with improving the customer experience and the insights that we received immediately have allowed changes in the warehouse and Order cash procedures.
Probably the area that we struggled with as an organization was the fact that data mining was a new way of looking at data, we needed to support this
Primarily focused on "On-time" and "in Full". As a customer-focused business maximizing deliveries as our wholesalers or consumers would expect was the priority.
Celonis is extremely dedicated to ensuring their customers are ready, willing and able to adopt their product. They put significant time, effort and resources into ensuring we have everything we need to make great use of their technology.
Nothing. I hear it's an expensive solution, but I wasn't involved in vendor selection, so I can't go into any detail there. And I have no comparison for alternatives.
Our business units have hunches about what's slowing their processes down. They can tell there are hang-ups somewhere, but don't have the insight to be able to pinpoint where the problems are. Celonis provides hard data that gives business users and leaders absolute clarity into where they can make improvements. One business unit so far has been able to change their process to remove the most "friction". Another business unit in a shared services organization has realized they need to create a decision making structure around who acts on process improvement opportunities identified by the tool. We are relatively early in the journey, as we have just started implementing to the business this year.
There are a lot of things, some of which are: Firstly, being able to see for the first time how our order to cash processes really look like and becoming aware of the many existing process variations is quite a revealing experience – for top management as well as for process owners. Getting information about KPIs like automation rates and throughput times for any step in the process within any data constellation based on data from the ERP-System is something we do not want to miss anymore. Secondly, the user interface is well-thought-out and fun working with. Setting filters on any attribute or data field and getting real time response from Celonis is outstanding. Thirdly, the project for the technical implementation of Celonis within our company was frictionless. Data validation ate up a lot of project time but was worth the effort. And finally, the support of Celonis and our chosen implementation partner is flawless.
The following points are not things I especially dislike about Celonis. They should be reminders of obstacles we had and still must overcome to reap the benefits of process mining in general and implications one must be aware of when embarking on data-based process mining. Firstly, big improvements might be achievable without a process mining tool because they are so obvious to the organization and might have been already fixed in past. What remains are the “left over potentials” in much smaller size pertaining to value. So, to gain measurable benefits one must be prepared to implement a lot of smaller process improvement projects, each providing a bit of value. The benefit will be visible as the sum of the value of those realized projects will increase. It is like Gulliver who is tied up by thousands of strings in Lilliput. Cutting or loosening any string only has small value. But once you solved a critical mass of small problems you can really improve your organizations process performance. Secondly, one cannot put process mining into practice as an en passant activity. An organization must commit resources to this area on a regular basis. The topic is much too complex to have it carried out part time. So, clear responsibilities and a decision from top management to allocate capacity of the work force to process mining are success factors which come with a cost. Finally, you might not have the personnel with the skill and/or mind set required for working with a process mining tool. Taking time for exploration, developing a curiosity of underlying correlations and delving deeper and narrower into the processes and data is a skill which is scarcely found in companies where problem solving with quick fixes is the norm.

How easy it is to see the process data. With just a few clicks you can drill down to an area of interest and se how your process actually occurs and where improvement opportunities are. The Ability to benchmark process preformation in many different ways is helpful. Using the attribute table to filter the data and understand what aspect of the process is driving performance. How the tool can be customized to show KPIs of interest - the transformation center can be set up to track any aspect of process performance you are interested int. The visualization of the data - making data easy to understand though the process exploring help when you engage with the users of the process you are mining. The partnership with the vendor to ensure successful deployments. Celonis has multiple roles in their organization to support our deployments. The Customer Success Manager and Business Value Architect are two key roles form Celonis that are making our implementation successful. The User Interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. Some of the more advanced features of the tool are really powerful. The ability to do multiple event log mapping will help us connect different processes. The Machine leaning and action engine capabilities helps us automate our initiatives and operationalize the tool use. The online training material and multiple training tracks really helped accelerate our deployments and ensured we enabled the right type
The training material provided was very good, but having 3 different systems to log onto could be improved (the tool itself, tool training environment, learning system)

Looking at the tool itself it does not only come with its broad bandwidth of functionality, its intuitive UX design and fancy dashboards. Indeed, but the highest value is providing in-depths knowledge of your own processes, which you are (probably) not aware of. The tool shows the naked truth, may it be good or rather inconvenient. But if you utilize this strength in the right way, it can also be a great device to convince your peers about your objectives. It removes any emotional factors from discussions as it instantly provides information you could just suspect before. Another great factor of Celonis is the role of the Success Manager. That was new to me and this is far more than an Account Manager. Celonis opens many doors, not only to its senior management, but also to all kind of other Celonis customers. The chance to exchange experience with those is invaluable. That gives you a great piece of certainty when you rollout Celonis into your firm.
It might be challenging to meet all expectations of the different departments. Celonis is considered to be a messiah for all your problems, but be aware that it is neither meant to be a numb KPI reporting tool, nor a staff performance monitoring tool.
We are using Celonis to analyze our sales as-is processes in order to identify inefficiencies. The same will then be prioritized and removed based on importance and implementation efforts. Furthermore, we use Celonis in our S/4 Hana transformation, where we run conformance checks, analyze all kind of changes happing to a process, transactions and order types. As we are in the beginning of this journey, there is much more to come, such as IT as well as production processes.

Celonis is a very flexible and helpful tool to analyze business processes. Celonis helps a lot to find bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the processes as well as issues in the interfaces between to workflows systems. As business analyst you can get quick insights how my business processes perform and where the issues are. You can select the relevant data and all KPI will refresh within a few seconds.
To built up new analysis you need knowledge about SQL and fundamental data understanding.
First it is difficult to built up a new data model for process visualisation based on the workflow system if you have very complex processes. But if you get some experiences it will be easier.

At the start of digital transformations, a lot of process activities take place "Offline", therefore the expected initial response will be that the data is "incorrect". This is not a problem with Celonis, but the change management aspect of a Celonis implementation can be challenging.
With the help of Celonis we improved the following KPI`s: on time delivery performance of our suppliers, on time payment %, invoice validation TPT, master data quality, MOQ/EOQ optimizations, on-time delivery to our customers, reduction of waste activities, inventory optimization, production TPT, confirmation accuracy, Incoterm compliance etc.
I like Celonis because I can check multiple location information at the same time and generate functional KPIs for my department.

The platform provides a wide array of tools, pre-built use cases and apps that would help to jump-start to unlocking its value. It is easy to connect other systems to Celonis through API's, where the app store provides apps and use cases for connecting the majority of common ERP platforms. There is no restriction in terms of Celonis capabilities since you can use it for both discovering hidden bottlenecks and also confirming ones that you'd assume to have a problem.
Hard to identify the right use case using own expertise or when not having a specific problem in mind. Sometimes the platform has technical issues in loading/synching which is usually solved on its own within a few hours or the next working day! To implement and drive value efficiently, you need a top-notch consultant who can work well on the platform in identifying and select the most optimal use cases.
Identifying bottlenecks in different processes across multiple departments. Like the Purchase 2 Pay process. I randomly mine data sets to identify patterns that indicate a waste or resources/lack of efficiency (discovery approach).
The Celonis team have delivered an outstanding product and a framework for delivering benefits which is without peer in the market place. The tool is extremely easy for new users but also extremely powerful for experienced users. The framework that Celonis have provided for identifying business benefits based on the clients data is an outstanding piece of work. They have utilised the experience from hundreds of clients to build a robust approach / methodology
Nothing. I am continually surprised by how well thought out the toolset is. Of course there are always improvements to be made in any product but these are more in additional features coming. I think some additional functionality with the conformance checker (e.g. to have an "if" rule for different sceanrios) and a data plot graph would be useful additions.
Our focus at the moment is on improving the SAP Procurement processes for clients. So far we have identified millions of dollars of savings for clients. These have been across such topics as automation, minimising manual work, EDI enablement, Supplier Consolidation, Contract Usage and Maverick Buying. The ability to build event logs based on any IT system provides the scope to improve any IT based process.
- The capacity that Celonis have to to drill down to a specific item. - Also the possibility to use machine learning to improve processes. - The design of the tool is also user friendly. - The use of IA as a predictor for future actions. - The analysis related to Business case are a strength that is a must for all analysis. - SOD, Three Ways Match, PI Social are really useful and for those teams that needs to improve the performance of their teams will help us a lot. - Celonis can help the entire organization. In fact my recommendation is use Celonis to monitor all the processes of the organization. Perhaps if Celonis is implemented in a single process, the organization might not see the full potential. - a tool to be use in all levels of the organization. - Other thing that I like is the content store, where you can see all products for each process and system.
- A weakness Celonis is showing is his lack of flexibility to add new processes, and/or give support to companies with other ways of work different than European. - Other one is the support from Celonis Team. Sometime they cannot support our requirements.
