InVision is easy to use and is great for the collaboration of multiple teammates.
The free version is great, but you're only allowed up to one "Project" folder. This is where the paid version gets its leverage.
Before InVision came along, my institution would have hours of scheduled meetings to review proposed wireframes and mockups together. Now, all we have to do is upload the files to the project, send out an invite email and wait for the team to submit their feedback through the comment mode. This not only saves time but reduces redundant feedback.
No coding needed Feels like native app Just drag and drop the picture files to upload and change pages Adding button or interaction point is just dragging mouse and resize to any size you want Option to set header Option to add layer
Updating preview can take sometime There is no easy option to clear cache or reload pages when using mobile preview Sometimes there is visual glitch, like black stripe on bottom part of the picture
I can present and explain UI and UX design changes better to developer I can get better feedback when testing new design to user Its free for one project!
I love that it's such an accurate way to show website mockups to clients who sometimes have trouble seeing how it will translate.
When uploading mockups to a new section, it doesn't always upload to the section I expect it too. I would rather newer uploads show at the top than the bottom.
Helping clients see an accurate depiction of what the final website will look like. It allows them to comment directly on the mockup. I can create tour points that are more clear when placed on the mockup itself.
Easy upload and update for designs, cool prototyping features and the latest user testing features are absolutely great. It really enhanced my workflow and I love it.
I can't say that I dislike anything so far. It would be great if the comments could be gathered somewhere and be reorganized (like a todo list) that would be awesome. I also want to see more downloadable apps that collaborate with design tools or online services.
With inVision I can share my designs with clients or colleagues, gather feedback and apply changes easily. I think that it's the #1 tool for every ux/ui designer.
I think this tool help a lot to really put out my prototypes in best shape, it was really easy to set up interfaces, to set up a work group and start the feedback in such a collaborative way and it was really was really fast to show the interaction of the digital products. one more thing was the easy setup for mobile prototypes
there is only one thing actually, sometimes for some reason when you upload a screenshot of a working progress it does not fit to the actual size of the live preview and you get some dead space around and it makes hard to get the whole picture of the project, especially when you are figuring out if it must scroll down or be fix on center
the main problem we are solving is to show real time interaction to clients by letting them know how the product is looking at early stages, and when we need a different kind of feed we might include the client in different stages of the development
You upload a picture, put hotspots on it - BANG! You've got a prototype. It's literally that simple. But then there's SO much more. Desktop apps, mobile apps, tablet apps - you can prototype them all - and demo them on those actual devices with relative realism. No coding, not magic - it's incredibly simple.
I wish there was a more robust system for templating both reusable screens and hotspots. The hotspot templates are pretty good, but could be more thought out. The recent-ish introduction of overlays helped with the reusable screens, but it too needs some more work before it's 100% effective.
It's been said that if a picture is worth a thousand words, then a prototype is worth a thousand mockups, and it's true. Getting from mockup/comp to interactive, usable prototype is critical for ensuring you're designing and about to build the right thing, to solve the right problem. Until your mockups/wireframes etc. become interactive in some fashion, you're just guessing. InVision helps you get from static to interactive better, and faster than any other workflow I've ever seen. Period. Because I can get an interactive prototype wired up in minutes, I'm able to quickly iterate on designs, options, patterns, workflows, and test with stakeholders and users. If a client hires me, they'll be using InVision. We use it not only for testing, but for demo, for commenting, discussion, reviewing mockup changes over time, and even signoff.
I've use this tool for three-plus years on a daily basis and count it as necessary as Photoshop, sketch or any other design tool. Building upon its primary use of being an intuitive prototype tool, that anyone could use without the requirement of knowing code, I also use it as a communications platform between myself and my team, as well as to clients.
The only thing that could be improved, is that every once in a while there is an occasional slowness to the online platform, but it usually gets cleared up in a very short time span, if not minutes.
I am creating mobile apps and websites for both startups and Fortune 500 companies alike. In building these, it is much easier to convey the digital experience as a clickable prototype, rather than just images such as in a PDF. Using Invision allows me to bridge the gap between still images and an actual functioning app, without having to implement code.
I like the ability to make a design interactive and for a client to view the site as if it were live on the web.
For the purpose that I use it, there isn't anything that I don't like.
It allows us to show our clients a web design exactly how it would look on the web so that they get a good idea of the design and then allows them to make notes on the design itself for changes.
One of my favorite things about InVision is a cohesive, centralized, and fast tool for uploading screens, linking up mock-ups, and getting some basic functionality in the hands of users. You get what you put in, so if you take the time to really think about your prototypes, you can build some amazing things that feel real enough to validate crucial insights in the UX process. Taking things further into Hi-Fi mock-ups, screen management tools, and a killer feedback system keep you working inside the same tool through more of the design process.
I don't like the static feel of the screens. I wish I could edit elements, in a layer system, to animate it/out, swap in/out, and transition between. With the addition of a layer system in InVision, the tool would destroy pretty much every other tool other than Pixate or Framer.js.
When it's time to validate flows, red-routes, UX considerations or just general funnel optimization, having the direct feedback of people manipulating a prototype is the fastest way to get to key insights.
InVision allow us to have a prototype of our new features and, sometimes, entire products as soon as we have an interface designed. We use it to interview users and save a lot of development time. This has been huge for us.
The product is so good it is hard to find flaws. One little thing though, more animations option so we can simulate our intent more precisely.
The time it takes to put what is new in the hands of users. This has helped us to improve our product in a totally different pace.
I can show my clients fully clickable version of their apps or websites to test around with a single share click. Screens have a good quality. I can organize my files with the categories like "Accepted/To Change/To-do" etc. The whole layout and design of the app are clean and modern. I can see from the dashboard exactly what screens are approved, in progress or rejected - I don't have to open every file separately. I think this is a huge advantage.
Sometimes it has some lags while using and the process of moving screens is way too slow. Often, when I am moving layers the file is stuck in the wrong place which is very irritating.
Clients can see exactly how their app or website is responding without writing any code from my side. I can go to the developers, investors or even family to show how my project will be working.
I like the visualization of the screens when you upload them, thumbnails are big and it makes easy to see what you've upload. Also the functionality of moving screens to the position that you prefer, it is something I use often.
I don't like the way you navigate through screen to ad hotspots to link screens, sometimes I get lost on which screen I should link to, when I want to create a similar hotspot or duplicate a hotspot I consider it very hard to do, it's not self explained and I often forget how to do it. I think InVision should provide better solutions to prototyping for web aswell, responsive design and maybe a way to divide the layout so you can show more details for the costumer.
InVision provides a really fast way to prototype an idea and also present layouts to a client, Your interface is very easy to use, the integrations with other softwares helps aswell, specially with Sketch, it makes production very agile.
The InVision product is really easy to pick up and it's functions are continually improving. Everyone in my teams uses InVision from time to time and that shareability is a real bonus to our workflow.I love the investment InVision are putting into R&D through InVision Labs. It's integration with Sketch is a great time-saver.
To be a fully featured prototyping app, InVision needs some more interactions and animations. At the moment creating animations can be a bit tricky.
We use InVision for a couple of main reasons; to explain to internal stakeholders what we're trying to achieve and to test with users to see if we're still on the right track. It's really quick to use, integrates nicely with Sketch and everyone on our team uses it so we don't have any bottlenecks waiting for designers to update interactions.
Easy to collaborate. Easy to sync files. Neat animations. Tens of useful features.
I have nothing to dislike. I believe there are many thinks to dislike, nothing is perfect, but I still didn't find it.
Collaboration with team and clients - the main problem that this tool started to solve, you can see progress, touch it, comment on it, test etc.
The User Interface is just awesome. I like it very much.
There are some issues in User Experience. Sometimes it's hard to find the correct command.
I usually use Invision for Prototyping for my clients work. And it helps me to find out the issues of final output.
I love Invision. Invision isn't just a prototyping/mockup tool, its a workflow. Invision changed the way I work. It makes showing clients and collaborating on projects a breeze. I also love the other things Invision has to offer. I use boards all the time to make mood boards for both personal and client projects. I have one board titled "Personal Inspiration". It has anything saved that inspired me; photographs, designs, screenshots, etc. And the new tool craft? Don't get me started. Its awesome. It makes mobile prototyping in sketch a total creative powerhouse. I can mockup mobile prototypes so fast its nuts. Thanks invision for the game changing stuff, keep up the good work. I recommend invision to anyone looking to up their design game. My clients love it and I think yours will too.
$15 a month for 3 prototypes feels a bit steep to me, but I understand too that they have to make money somehow. Other than that I am completely satisfied.
I solve UX/UI problems for my clients. Invision allows me to speed up the review process by putting my design solutions in an easy to use format for my clients to experience the mockup.
I really love this product. I love the clickable prototypes and the fact that I can make mockups of varying fidelity. Extremely easy to share content with colleagues and clean enough to use these prototypes to test with clients.
So far, I haven't found anything better and really enjoy this product.
I love this tool for testing as well as early stage concept mocks.
The tool for sync my mockups in a sketch file and keep modifying my projects with no problem. The functions related with upload my team's comments. How easiest is share the project to different devices and register the interaction and. The new function to present the design process to our clients is wonderful, there's no need to think about the keynote that we're going to use.
Some interactions require too much process in my computer and the link to sign into my account is not easy nor recognizable by my browser (google chrome). Regarding to the presentation function, the typography is too thin and is not good for projectors during the meetings.
I work usually with big libraries and frameworks to implement in different services, there' not an specific area but the size and functions of some services. The benefits have been working more fast and in collaboration with more people who is not necessary next to me. I can test faster than before and show/share the results with anyone.
Invision is great for showing flows. It uses simple hot spots and supports easy screen replacement.
Invision isn't as powerful when it comes to animations
It's been helpful demonstrating flows and presenting designs.
How easy it is to link screens together when doing low Fidel or hi Fidel interactivity
Nothing really, cant actually think of anything...0h the only thing I wasn't aware of that if I had several projects, actually it was only one, just demonstrating through different personas, I would need a paid membership.
