We've been using the tool about 3 months now and after testing it just paid for an annual subscription (for the increased discount). Our fully virtual remote team loves using the app to eliminate clients using their personal phone numbers and have professional phone access from anywhere The shared visibility of what's happening and what tasks have been addressed has been a nice improvement. For the fee (previously we had a free number that basically served for incoming calls only) the value exchange has been more than worth it. We had one admin team member (me) serve for setup and managing the call options.
The only downside we've experienced is a couple of questions along the way about functionality, but the interfact is intuitive and there may be some user error in there too. Other systems we trialed before settling on OpenPhone seemed to have deeper options for the phone tree setup, but at this point it may just be we haven't fully figured the system out yet. Everything else has been seamless including the customer service responsiveness and the phone number porting option we selected (after deciding to make the switch permanent).
We're at the point we wanted to remove clients having our team's personal phone numbers and texting/calling through them. It limited tracking as well as made it challenging for clients to set boundaries on their time (even if they didn't answer the call / text they "knew" about it and would need to handle at some point). OpenPhone's set working hours option is GREAT.
Very user friendly. It is a flexible platform that can easily be adaptable to changing needs. Can use the exclusive business number directed to my personal cell number.
After a few weeks of usage, still have not encountered any elements that I might have a challenge with or dislike. At the moment, OpenPhone meets expectations.
Having business lines with relatively low overhead price. Can have more members of the team have personalized business lines thus increasing our company's presence in the market.
The ability to text and call with the same number from multiple users knowing who called or texted in the text chat or call
I can't find something that isn't good about it
the ability to work as a team showing as one person for the customer
I've had experience in the past implementating Netrix and 8x8 solutions and I can say that the account setup was overall easier. We are a small business and I'm primarily the only person answering the phone, so having a functional mobile app was a must to allow me to perform all of the functions of my jobs and this is one of the most functional mobile apps that I've used. Support was also incredibly helpful when it came to an issue that arose trying to port my phone number from our former provider to OpenPhone. If you're looking for a solution for your team where you'll have one primary user answering the phone, this is a great and affordable option.
I haven't found much to dislike, but the website advised reaching out to someone to determine if OpenPhone is a good fit for you and while the person I spoke to was nice, it's clear that they're more experience working with people who aren't familiar with implementations and therefore didn't know exactly how to address some of my questions or concerns in trying to determine it was a good fit for me. Thankfully, the documentation provided following our call was helpful, but it would be helpful to have onboarding specialists who have experience with a wide range of technical ability (from complete novices to advanced users).
We had previously been overpaying for solutions that had too many bells and whistles for our small business. I described OpenPhone to my team as having the right number of bells and whistles for what we need and we've been able to save several hundreds of dollars per month in favor of a solution that is more prepared to grow with us.
- It provides the cheapest plan we can find so far and yet it satisfies all our needs and more. - The web app and phone app just run well. The UI is very user friendly and surprisingly responsive. - I see old complains about slow support but my own experience was fast, my question was answered within a few hours and another follow up within a day. - I got a very good and easy to remember phone number, it's even in the area of my own home. - Very stable service, I use it everyday so far. As stated above, it's very easy to start, be it in the web browser on PC or apps on my Android phones. Messages and call logs are synchronized between all apps and phones. You can even receive phone calls from multiple phone at the same time (though only the first phone to answer would get into the call, which makes sense).
- Sometimes the web app is buggy and some text messages don't show up but it is fixed after a manual refresh. - The SMS feature doesn't support RCS well yet so when someone reacts or sends a picture, it's a bit confusing. - Phone call is slightly delayed though it's probably should be expected.
We travel a lot outside of Canada and we need a Canadian phone number for services and keeping in touch with family without expensive roaming.
Ease of use Low pricing The number of available integrations
Sometimes bugs Integration between hubspot and openphone is somewhat rigid
Centralizing all communications over the phone and giving visibility on our outbound strategy
I used to use a different VOIP platform and I was constantly losing calls or not receiving text messages. This has cost me ALOT in the long run. Since swithing to OpenPhone, I have not missed a single call and I can see the texts in real time on my desktop AND on my Android App. I should have done the switch to OpenPhone much sooner! Thank you for saving me!
The only downside at the moment is that when texting from the desktop window, if you press enter it sends the message right away. I have not learned how to disable the enter, instead I would prefer to get a new line.
I was previously missing out on so many calls... so glad I finally did the switch. I wish I would have learned about OpenPhone long ago.
What sold me on OpenPhone is the outgoing messages that can be programmed during business hours and after. So, when my clients text me and I am with another client, they get a warm response, that let's them know I will get back to them as soon as I am able. The same can be done outside business hours. This is INVALUABLE to me and my business.
I haven't found anything that is missing or could be better!
OpenPhone allows my clients to recieve a response immediately, even if I am with another client or out of the office.
easy to use, save a lot of company phone bill, best of best SMS & Voice intergration on one page. start same day easy implementation. option to intergrate to CRM tools customer support portal nice. fantastic phone app for daily use.
1.SMS carrier registry so confuse and make regular user frustrate. 2. porting from AT&T , I recommend openphone to many people to try then they give up when porting# from AT&T business phoneline. 3, no VOIP phone or PBX support. (really?)
support Voip phone and PBX
How easy and intuitive is the system when in use
I hope they get more "live" customer service department. That you can contact someone and spaek to someone
It makes it possible for me to work with Virtual Assitants. I have multiple businesess and it help with a dedicated line per business.
We are new to OpenPhone, but our transitions has been smooth. Customer support has been a huge help. We are excited to use the number of features offered, especially the snippet responses for customer messages.
We are a small business with only 4 employee and were told that wedo not meet the minimum number for specific onboarding training.
Our old system had limited desktop capabilities and seemed specifically geared towards IPhone users. OpenPhone allows us to 1) have all of our staff work in the system at the same time, 2) customize ring order, and 3) create standard responses we can use for common client questions.
ease of use. inexpensive for start up/fledgling companies
i wish you had way cooler ring tones. and maybe good hold music.
low cost telecommunications
I liked the best is their interface is so Much good
Well I dislike that their must be live chat option rather than an Email
Open Phone give us unlimited msgs while other has limitation
OpenPhone has been great to have for my small business with 3 different numbers. The service is reliable, the options to customize are top-notch, and customer service has been responsive and helpful. The cost is reasonable, and even through the massive changes of registering 800 numbers and business numbers we use to text clients, they've guided us through the registration processes to keep our texting functionality active.
Their customer service must work while I'm sleeping, since I don't usually get a response to my emails for help until late at night or overnight. But thankfully I haven't had any issues that have required immediate assistance.
Allows me to keep my business calls in an app with business hours, so my phone isn't ringing when I'm not working.
I love Open Phone - its user friendly , and the Customer Support Staff are great . I love the features that the platform offers and many settings to customize how you like. The ease of use in setting things up , and day to day use of gathering messages or replies .
Sometimes previous messages disappear ( not sure where they go ) but they turn back up when and if this does happen .
I love that it allows me to see everything right here in the platform - my calls, texts voicemails, missed calls etc . Its a very nice way to stay on top of connecting with people .
Having one phone number for everyone. We can all discuss the calls and texts and discuss before responding. If a colleague is on a call, I can even see they are still actively on the call.
No hardware available. This won't be replacing the true office phone. But this has much better funcationalilty than the traditional VOIP office hardware.
I left Ooma because SMS didn't come standard, and if I upgraded Ooma the SMS system wasn't very user friendly. OpenPhone does a great job with group SMS and group calling.
Love that every phone call has a summary that is organized into bullet points. The texting feature is great as well as it consolidates phone calls, text and voice mails per number so that you can easily reference previous communications.
Have not found any downsides yet. Maybe a call que system for multiple phone calls come in at the same time. Maybe the function is there and I am not aware of it.
Direct communication with our clients. Also helps to minimize outdated hardware associated with typical landlines.
One of the standout features of OpenPhone is its seamless integration across devices. The ability to have a dedicated business number on my mobile device, desktop, or laptop ensures I'm always connected and responsive, regardless of where I am.
One potential drawback I've encountered with OpenPhone is the limited customization options for call routing and advanced features compared to some other similar platforms.
OpenPhone effectively resolves the issue of managing multiple phone numbers or devices for business communications. Consolidating all calls, texts, and contacts into one platform streamlines my workflow and ensures I never miss an important client message or call. This consolidation has significantly improved my responsiveness and overall communication efficiency.
I love how everything is integrated into my CRM so all texts, calls, voicemails, everything get's tracked, so I never forget something a client said, and no client can ever say they said something when they really didn't. Love the synopsis of phone calls too with the follow up recommendations.
Only downside I saw was the porting process took a while and I'm still waiting for my CallerID to be listed properly, but that's not really their fault, it's the whole system for the phone industry.
It tracks everything and ties it all right into my CRM, so I never lose track of details for a project that may have been on a phone call or text. Very good at keeping clients to their word.
It was very affordable, had all the features I needed for my small businesses. Support was also very responsive. It was very easy to setup a new account. After the initial accounts I like the platform so much I ported over the phone number of our other retail business.
There is nothing in particular, its unuseable with some services for SMS verification but I think thats a pretty standard VoIP number thing not specific to OpenPhone
Ease of getting business level phone service like in call options and routing. It was self-serivce which. I like, it didnʻt require a sales rep to corodinate with.
