Squarespace offers templates that are absolutely gorgeous. You can't go wrong with a long scrolling picture. It is crisp and clean and makes me look like a coding pro even though I only use the basics. It was my first website builder I used because they offered a student discount when I was in undergrad. Now that I am in the workforce, I usually recommend to clients that they switch to this site.
The cost is a major bummer. When I lost my student discount I couldn't believe how expensive it was. I had already put years of work onto my site, however, so I sucked it up and now pay monthly until I can cough up the year subscription. I also haven't been able to split rows into multiple columns. I've tried multiple different templates but nothing has worked. This is the only reason that I sometimes used Wordpress, which has an easy drag and drop interface which allows column building.
I use Squarespace for my personal portfolio which includes a photograph, marketing content, writing, and contact info. It has allowed me to create a very user-friendly site. I also made my companies' website using Squarespace after Wordpress wouldn't work the way I needed it to.
I love how user friendly it is. It's extremely easy to update everything, even on my mobile device.
I wish I knew HTML to manipulate a few things but 9 times out of 10, I am able to find a template that contains what I am looking for.
Creative Services
I love how user friendly it is. It is easy for us to update.
I dislike some of the formatting for the pages.
We have migrated all of our websites on square space. It has helped us track our viewing. Very easy for us to update.
Drag and drop builder makes it easy to design website to specifications without coding background. Cost effective for new company.
The options/customization are limited at times.
Much easier to market and get business opportunities with a website.
I felt that Squarespace was a very intuitive platform. I've used wix, weebly, and wordpress, and after playing with Squarespace I feel like it was the easiest to use—and you got a GORGEOUS, modern website once you were done!
I've only worked out of templates, so that in itself has its own challenges. Their templates are beautiful, but there are constraints you can't get out of. For example, the spacing! I want 3 images with 3 columns of text centered in the page, and to do so you need to add the images, columns, and "spacers" strategically in place. Well, it's basically impossible to get it centered, because you can't adjust how large the spacers are—you're limited to certain sizes.
So, I've built 2 websites on Squarespace, each of them with different styles and purposes. The biggest business problem we've solved is the ease-of-use. The learning curve is pretty small, so anybody can hop in and make some changes without messing it up. We save time since we don't have to train anyone, and you're efficient in a short amount of time.
The design of the site - it is simplistic to me, but in a clean cut way. By doing so, it makes the information look more appealing and straight forward to our customers.
Some functions are hard to find. For example, when setting the prices you had to go to a several different pages - this was the only time that squarespace was not user friendly.

This platform solved a major headache for me as a part time freelancer - CMS, hosting, analytics, and landing page all in one. And for a low monthly price.
Wish analytics were a little more powerful, and sometimes the templates can be limiting.
Hosts my freelance site and has eliminated my hosting charges while providing exceptional value.
Square space is great because not only is it easy to use, but it's very inenpensice to use, and sometimes even free. There are many options for creating amazing and cutting-edge websites that look professional and chic.
For the free options, there are too many ads and hoops to jump through. Its best to pay for a small package if there are budget concerns.
Creating a website that looks modern and interesting. The website options from square space are very current to what trends are popular these days.
Squarespace is very easy and straight to the point. I love the design and clean lines of every site I look at. I literally can start a website within 10 minutes or less because it's that easy and it look professional.
The biggest issue I have are the monthly cost and lack of templates. Since cost can change and if you change from a web store or increase in visitors it can be a bit of a pain in pricing.
In the past when using it, it was simply having a website. The benefits of anyone being able to use it is also great.
The platform is simplistic so what you produce is very beautiful.
Not a thing. I really enjoy the site because of its fluidity.
The fact that I just need an online presence is what Squarespace is solving for me. I care about my company's image so, they furnish that for me.
Templates offered are great and easy to use.
The host site has gone down on us once and it took a little longer to restore than desired.
It's a great way to communicate the mission and events of my nonprofit organization.
Love how easy it is to get set up, customize, and integrate even with e-commerce stores. FInd it extremely useful to build and hand off to clients as well (given how simple its dashboard is).
Link any CMS tool it is limited. For those that are looking for a little bit more customizability or more freedom (with javascript) etc.
Squarespace lets me build really easy landing pages, client projects, or even build quick marketing websites for the companies I've worked for/with. It's extremely easy to get set up and has a really simple integration with both e-commerce transactions (stripe) and google analytics (for tracking).
The best feature of Squarespace is the ease of use, and speed of onboarding. I am able to teach my clients to use and manage their website in a matter of weeks vs the typical months it takes on other CMS's.
Adding custom functionality to a Squarespace site can be a chore, and often lead to errors in the responsive code. This is the biggest limiting factor of Squarespace.
I use Squarespace exclusively for my clients projects so everyday its a different a problem to be solved. Typically though we find that Squarespace is best suited for brochure websites.
Squarespace is beautiful to look at and is also very user friendly! Great for anyone to make a website!
I think that if you have a question about the platform, it's hard to get an answer.
Creating user friendly websites
I love how easy it is to make changes- add photos, change fonts, even the navigation is so easy. The whole experience is incredibly user-friendly.
I really wish there was an easier way to upload images for blog posts. The whole process is grating as a photographer trying to upload 50+ images per post.
Oh man, Squarespace is my website host so it's hosting all my info, contact, and portfolio for potential and current clients. It's really made my business standout and I get compliments on my website all the time.
