What I like best about WordPress vs Joomla or Drupal or even sites likes Wix and Squarespace is that it's what you make of it. If you know nothing about websites and want to build a blog or simple website, WordPress can be set up in less than 30 minutes. If you want to build a more in-depth and complex site with a lot of features you can build that with code or plugins. The versatility of the platform makes it a great place to start.

What I dislike is that it's bulky. In order to have the ability to build out and have a lot of features it has a lot of weight and can take a while to load. Also, it has its own language and lexicon that you have to learn in order to understand how various parts of it work. Again, it's great for beginners, but there is a learning curve.

I currently use WordPress for a personal blog as well as an affiliate site that brings in passive income. I found it to be easy to set up these types of websites with WordPress and I am able to create them with free templates easily. The biggest benefit is being able to create a website quickly and be up and running right away.

This makes it easy to use other software that I need, such as Google analytics, email management software, and basically any other software that I need. I do this either by adding code snippets or installing a plugin. Available Support: When stuck with WordPress, I don’t need to worry about anything. All I need to do is Google. There is information about almost everything concerning WordPress from its huge community of developers and users. In short, WordPress is amazing. I have achieved a lot with it.

When there is some serious issue with your WordPress website, you need some basic coding knowledge to troubleshoot the issue and deal with it. Personally, I can do this on my own, but I believe there are other users who wish it to be simpler.

When using for a business, if you have multiple people editing, it can sometimes get clunky. The page will lock or you'll constantly get notifications that there's an autosave version.

Ecommerce part is kinda hard to understand sometimes, especially from the SEO perspective

I've enjoyed using Wordpress for years in my role as a content marketing manager. The platform makes it easy to upload, format, schedule, and publish blogs that look professional, engaging, and are SEO friendly. The image capabilities let me easily drop in images, size them appropriately, and add captions/alt tags as needed. Plus, the plugins allow me to do things like redirect URLs, ensure my content is SEO-friendly, and provide visibility into the content's overall readability.

Sometimes it can be difficult to navigate the dashboard because there are so many callouts and features on it. And I've had trouble adding new features to my dashboard, such as "page views" as I've had on my dashboard at other companies where I've also used Wordpress.

With Wordpress I can easily create and publish blog content that I can then promote, update, and modify as needed. The benefits are that it's overall easy to use and allows for a good amount of customization.

I love the vast choices of pre-designed templates available and the widgets already at your disposal for you to use with your site. That and the fact that you allow other users to create templates for purchase that work within the system. The support team has a vast FAQ website and even youtube tutorials that have pretty much answered all my questions back when I was setting up my website. The dashboard is simple to figure out and has a great GUI that makes quick adding or removing items from the site a breeze.

It seems widgets can sometimes stop working for some reason and there doesn't seem to be a notification process for that until you find out from a user from your website that it's not working anymore. The login process could be a little more easy. Instead of remembering each username and password for separate sites, it would be nice to have a main login and then choose which domain I would like to work on for that day.

Easy contact with clients through widgets by setting up forms or contact buttons that will open up their email platforms. This has made me realize the benefit of having people click a button to say that their interested in my service instead of just a phone number or email where they can contact me. This has drastically improved my client inquiries by making it a few steps easier for the clients.

Excellent tool, you don't need to be a programmer to use it, it has many plugins that adapt to your needs, it can work for various types of web pages. I like the responsive version adapts to many mobile devices

the paid version is necessary to be able to take advantage of all the options that the tool offers, many options force you to at least have a basic course. In order to migrate the page to your server you must have the paid version

The option to be custom is there but you can keep it simple too. After a design project it is easy to hand over to the client for self management. I love that it is intuitive and always improving without me doing it. Great for keeping things current.

Sometimes security is a concern but adding the right tools and being conscious of threats to the internet as a whole really removes any real threat.

Easy, simple, content management solutions with unlimited design potential. Too often companies sacrifice design for ease of use or ease of use for design and WordPress allows both to work in harmony.

WordPress has an amazing community around it to help you navigate using the system from simple users to power developers. You can go as deep or as shallow as you like into the software and still accomplish most of what you want. The main reason I started using WordPress, and continue using it, is user friendliness. Compared to Drupal or Joomla, WordPress was much easier for the end user to navigate, and that was paramount for me at the time.

The downside of popularity is a lack of flexibility and agility. There are many places in which the software could be improved from a performance perspective, but changing the underlying architecture too greatly would be catastrophic for their user base updating. So how things are set up now is probably going to be how it is for the foreseeable future, for better or worse.

The only thing that did not work for me was the kind of features I wanted were there in the pro version and if you are a starter like me, you would not want to upgrade. That is the only downside but I guess you can build your network by starting out small and that is also the aim of the software. You start out small and then go big with the pro version once you have visibility.

Wordpress is the most commonly used tool for website building. If you learn how to use it, you won’t have to learn how to use much else when it comes to websites. There are different themes that websites will use, but almost all websites are built using Wordpress. So all you’ll have to get used to is the different themes. This makes it really easy, especially in marketing! There are also so many plug-ins available for you to use, so anything you want to do is easy and simple.

There are not many downsides to Wordpress. Some things might involve coding, if it’s complex and there aren’t any plugins compatible with your theme. But that’s not necessarily a downside or Wordpress, that’s more a downside of whatever theme you’re on. It would be great if Wordpress could let you use a main theme and then a sub-theme. That way if certain plugins aren’t able to be used on your theme, you could use a sub theme that is compatible.
