The theme and addon variety is just amazing, things like text comparison become easy with an addon without the need of any extra scripts.
It's just the best open source editor available for MacOSX, no dislikes at all
Coding in python, reading and filtering logs and comparing and filtering text.
I like the hack-ability of this text editor. The text editor is designed to be fully customizable, allowing you to add, change, design, or do virtually anything you want with it. There are thousands of plugins on the market that you can just select and install. This allows the text editor to have many bonus features available with only a click of a button!
I dislike how the text editor does not come with a color picker for picking CSS colors. I believe that many people would find this very useful. For example, say I want to make the background color a specific shade of red. Normally, I would have to open up Google and search "color picker" or something along the lines of that. Having a color picker option on the editor would be awesome and save many people a lot of time when designing webpages.
We have been able to design websites much faster with Atom. The auto-fill system is very good and allows us to simply type in the first few letters of the word we want to type and press tab to autofill it. Other than this, we have used Atom instead of our old product, Sublime Text, to save us thousands of dollars. The cool thing? Atom is completely free and does every single thing that Sublime does.
Atom allows me to customize many aspects of the text editor. It allows me to change the design and add plugins that add many new features to the program. The editor can meet just about anybody's needs.
Sometimes the text editor will have a lag spike. Atom will run on most budget computers but the very low-end budget laptops will experience some lag while using the editor. If they could possibly make it any more light-weight, it would be the absolute best text editor.
Atom has helped me write documents easier and for free. Some benefits of using Atom is not having to pay a price to use the editor, being able to add many modifications to the program, and having awesome auto-fill system and great color coding.
It is great for web development and has git integration, I used it for html, css , javascript, python , php and it reads all of these.
when editing xml everything is greyed out and has no functionality.
It helps with autofilling code and gives a nice visual representation of the code. It also helps spotting syntax errors
Right out of the box Atom is easy to use and very intuitive. I am new to coding, the documentation that Atom provided was easy to follow and required very minimum coding skills.
The only thing I can say that I do not like about Atom is its ability to preview what you are working on without having to use a browser.
I needed a way to learn Javascript as well as a few other languages all on one platform. Atom was able to do this seamlessly.
Iota is the most dominant, natural and dependable device I have ever use in my vocation as a developer. Considering gadgets, I had the option to program my inserted frameworks from Atom in my MAC. Ready to program Arduino, PIC, mbed and even STM items from Atom! For gadgets as well as for general programming in C++, Python, JS, and so forth.
It is bit overwhelming in execution. So it turns out to be moderate while utilizing it explicitly when you have bunches of records have been stacked into the manager. Aside from it, it doesn't have great troubleshooting apparatus which you can discover it from other word processors now a days.
I was searching for a code supervisor that would assist me with being increasingly proficient and quicker at work, with Atom I never again need to make the reports and its base physically, since particle has layouts for every language time, for instance in php it includes the signs < ? toward the start and toward the end.
I love the User Interface of Atom. It is so simple and very easy to use. There are tons of customization available. The command palate of Atom is noticeably good. Also, we can install lots of plugins libraries to customize and increased efficiency for writing the code.
To open ATOM it is a little slower. But if you are using a high-end processor then you will not have this problem. Also, the React Plugin is not that useful, I am not able to autocomplete the JSX code even installing plugins.
Most of the times I code in Atom editor. For my personal use as well as my company related use. It is open source so no need for premiums.
Having a text editor that just work, with all the language I do use (c++, java or javascript) is a way to save time without to need a context switch.
Nothing really, other than the 40 char limit in my answer.
Editing source code is what I do with Atom. Much easier to use than terminal mode with VIM.
I like that fact that it's minimal and it ties directly to Git.
To be honest, there's really not anything that I dislike.
IT has helped me program web apps
The support for version control systems like git makes the Atom Editor an extremely awesome tool. Finally a tool which syncs the development content with other team members!
It uses so much RAM compared to other editors. It should be a problem when you multi tasking.
You can use it to maintain servers of your infrastructure. Also the databases are very easy to maintain with Atom editor and PHP scripts are also very easy to be edited.
Atom is extremely great for editing text files and other minor coding files. It is extremely customizable and works like a charm for anything you could be using it for. The color change abilities are great for those who have sensitive eyes.
I can't say I have much I dislike about atom, I have never had any issues with it and it is lightweight and easy to understand.
I solve minor coding issues when I do not want to open a full fledged IDE in order to correct a missing semi colon. It is a great tool to use between projects, take notes, and more.
Atom is very easy to use. It shows colorful discrimination of every keyword in the language you are writing the code. It will be helpful for the developers to correct any mistakes either it can be spelling or syntax with color discrimination. It also has an option to enable or disable the autocompletion or auto-suggestions. When you are writing a length code these features are really helpful to ease your task.
Atom is doesn't support to edit a few types of files. For eg. .md files cannot be created using Atom. These files are generally used to write ReadMe files of projects you maintain GitHub.
We can easily import packages in the files.
ATOM is the most powerfull, intuitive and reliable tool i've ever use in my career as a programmer. Studying electronics, i was able to program my embedded systems from Atom in my MAC. Able to program Arduino, PIC, mbed and even STM products from Atom! Not only for electronics but for general programming in C++, Python, JS, etc.
It may be to heavy to support in some computers. The accuarcy to found the right add-on is not the best. it should have more colored themes to personalize the UI. In Windows, the UI seems bad thanks to the Windows upper bar "not yet supported" (?)
Working with ATOM in macOS, i was able to create electronic solutions with STM products using MCU like the Cortex M4 to M0. Able to programm PIC chips and Arduino code from the same interface. Having all the tools from Web development, to IoT in the same program is the best thing ever.
I like atom bc it’s a simple text editor that allows me to easily organize my files.
I have not found something that I dislike so far
I use Atom to develop code
