Figma is a feature-loaded design tool with tools designed to help users mockup, edit and design websites. The platform takes a more collaborative, cloud-based approach to design, which means it allows team members to design simultaneously and give each other continuous feedback as they work. This makes collaboration simpler and more effective. A free plan is available on Figma, however, premium plans offer more extensive tools and robust capabilities for web design and development as well as collaboration.

the best thing about this is, is that you can work with someone at the same time
the snap with the pen tool needs to be better
makes showing my boss my designs easier
Everything is easy and powerful. Integration with Zeplin, exporting in various formats is all easy.
I would like more photo editing tools to also be able to fix pics.
Prototyping, managing visual assets, social media posts
Figma is pretty amazing and very intuitive. Starting off, I like the layout and the concise spread of functionalities. A novice user can easily start using Figma without too much stress. In addition, Figma has an adjustment feature that allows for balance and stability in design and layout arrangement. Figma also allows users to pick colour from pictures into their designs, This is very useful for blending pictures into the design.
Even though it's pretty great, advanced design features are not easy to find on Figma. Color palettes and color mixtures are not readily available and requires quite a bit of tinkering to get it right.
Design of logos and banners as well as design of user interface. It's pretty fast and straightforward from the go.
All in one - prototyping, hand-off, and of course design! Also that it’s accessible in the browser
I wish you could ctrl-f to search text. I’m probably not an expert enough designer to give other good feedback - to me it works really well.
Browser based = work on it anywhere and overall speed Saves money and time by not buying other tools. This is the biggest one for me
Figma is free, online collaborative, and works very well. I use it every day and I love it.
I wish it had plugins, and I wish big files didn't slow my computer down so much
We're building an app. Many of us are PC users so Figma being good is more or less essential to our job, since Sketch isn't an option.
Figma is the best web design software. Easy use various tools. Easy navigation in the various tab. This is an online connected software, So can add different type of component from the web. Can add different type of colors, icon, jpg/png/SVG images, fonts. And also use ico font, font awesome. The grid shows for all objects so can alignment easily for all objects and frame. Can make the different group and layer system. easy prototype system. Automatically create CSS code, this is the advance feature. Figma can make easy web template, mobile template, and other UI Design. It has also a good looking interface. Thanks, Figma for great service.
All the facility is good but this software needs the internet connection to run.
I can easily make any type of UI design like- web template, mobile template, and other software templates. Can train to my students easily.
I’m not a designer myself but need to be able to do simple design work for emails, landing pages, and web. Figma makes it super easy for me to resize and build new images from scratch. I love it!
It took me a while to pick up on how to use it, but with training it’s super simple.
We are making design accessible for the entire product and marketing teams without being reliant on design to create every asset
Figma is free to get started on a basic account level. Its powerful and easy to share work with clients and co-workers.
I wish Figma was touchscreen capable. I have a 12.9 iPad pro that I would love to use with it.
Figma allows me to quickly and easily build website wireframes that I can share with co-workers and clients. It helps reduce development time and keeps the team on-track with comments and version control.
Figma is google docs for UX design. It fundamentally changes the way you work. The development team has been iterating at an incredibly fast pace and has gone beyond feature parity with most of the other tools out there. While it can take a while to grasp the concepts it puts forth the way it emphasis a design system helps to keep that as a core of your workflow.
The actual UI, while powerful, is less initiative than some of it's primary competitors (Sketch). It suffers from a bit of a "flat" aesthetic which can be harder to get the hang of at first.
Wireframing, concepting and specing out design work for stakeholders and developers to understand the vision of work needed to be done.
- Cross-Platform (All you need is a Browser) - Ability to import Sketch files - Accessible anywhere - Free, with Affordable Premium Available - Offline Desktop Application can be Downloaded for Local Work. - Very powerful for such a young application - Doesn't Crash browser and remains light on it - Extremely Powerful for a Browser Application - Has unique features (components, example) and touches I have only seen on this Application
- Needs Login, even for Desktop App. This is problematic for some who do not have online access or might be travelling. A workaround is logging in and having your machine go to sleep with it open. - I heard there is lacking support for some characters and languages. - Still a bit young - App works on Web Browsers on all Platforms, but there is not a local installer for all platforms even though the ones that exist are just using a web wrapper for the most part.
- Cross-platform, I can use it on Windows, OSX, Linux, Even BSD. There are not limits. As long as the OS has a Browser, we can use it. - I can access my work anywhere by just logging in. - I am able to import Sketch files when I don't have Sketch
The best part of Figma is the thought process of the developers, asking "what do we do repeatedly in design that we can automate?" This means that unlike other competitors like Sketch, Figma takes common tasks and creates easy to use processes to automate them.
Some parts do not work sometimes or are very rarely buggy, such as autoresizing sometimes, This isn't a big deal but it can get annoying sometimes.
UI/UX design. Figma is far and away the most integrated, well built tool for everyone on the team to use, because it is on the Web and not locked down to macOS like Sketch is.
Figma is fast and very smooth and does not have any delay in the interface. There are many options for resizing and to do work faster. It works well on any browser and you do not need a MAc for this due to its flexibility. Its user interface is exactly same to sketch which helps alot for those who are so used to sketch and especially if someone does not have a Mac. Another great part is that file can be sent and shared with others on the go and no software has to be downloaded for the same. Just open the link and start working. To top it all the desktop app size is also so small just 50 MB as compared to other software sizes which are so huge and occupy so much space on the laptop or PC. This makes it more a likeable product. Now Figma has got even faster with the launch of Figma 3x.
There is no animation which can be added to the prototypes created, if that was there it would be really helpful. If animation was included it would be the best software especially when it will be compared to InVision Studio.
Its very fast and easy to make and do prototypes and iterations. Especially for product design it is very good. With Figma we are also able to develop and make a product even better due to Figma flexibility and ease of use.
I haven't used figma for long but man oh man has it blown me away. The first time I showed a website design to my boss while we were both on screen, through the web browser was pretty incredible. I could see his mouse movements and suggestions as I made edits. Allowing for real-time interaction and feedback is incredible. Next is that it's cross-platform because it runs in a browser. Sketch is Mac only. They have really thought out what a modeling UI/UX designer needs and are constantly improving the platform. One of the huge things is live prototyping I can see what it will look like on my device in real time. That can't be beat. Incredible piece of software that will only get better.
Text styles are a little limited and it can be clunky to edit variables such as button text compared to sketch where each button has an input field in the properties panel. This is a small complaint and really just one of those things you have to think around and then you discover it's just fine.
We are using it to update our current website and create new designs for our company. I want to attempt to use it for social media display ads as well.
Figma was absolutely so great to use, I loved how easy it was to navigate. Figma is a great way to create digital content on a cloud, I loved being able to use it wherever I was without having to worry about my information saving or more importantly deleting.
The only thing I really disliked is the ability to not have more shape templates that I could use, rather than just the default! Other than that I think it would be fantastic.
We are really able to update digital media without having to share it between emails, I am really glad that I was able to find this. because it is so simple and easy to use, edit and understand even with basic digital media training.
I like the ease of use, Using Figma at first was a little tough, but I wasn't really trying to learn. I was playing around with some settings and as soon as I tried to really learn how everything was supposed to work it was VERY VERY EASY!
I wish there were more generic shape options to draw. That way I am not doing them with a pen and not getting the shapes to be symmetrical
It has provided me the ability to create and customize logos without having to pay an extremely high premium for the software
Easy, intuitive, better than Sketch, can add and edit svg's without problems. I like that more than one person can edit the same page at one time. You don't have to check the page in or out to edit. This is one of the easiest programs I've used since becoming a UX Designer. The side panel of effects, stroke, export, are very intuitive. It's easy to understand and searching for help on a certain element in Figma Help is great. They have a lot of information and it's easy to understand, with pictures or tutorials.
Can't do interactions like in Axure. It would be great if they had that option. I don't like that if you copy and paste an element that it seems to be grouped together, but even when you go to ungroup, it doesn't seem to ungroup. I also don't like that the sizes will change a little when you copy and paste something that seems to be grouped. It will stretch your elements.
I build mid-high fidelity wireframes in Figma. It's very easy to use once you have used Sketch or Axure. I have never used Photoshop, but I assume it's better than that. I realized that when you import SVG's you can change the colors and you don't have to mask images like you do in Sketch or Axure. It's easy to share your file, more than one person can be working on the same page at the same time.
I'm a huge fan of Sketch, but I love Figma's flexibility and clean UI. I also like the fact that it's compatible with Windows and it's available on browsers. Amazing customer support
It definitely lacks features. No plugins, pdf exporting (extremely important for me), can't export to sketch.
I am able to work with my boss, who uses a PC. In the past, we used to use Photoshop for UI design, then I switched to Sketch, and it limited our ability to collaborate. Figma solved this. I still have to use Sketch to fill in the gaps caused by the lack of features Figma has, but I try to stick to Figma as much as possible, in fact, I would like to eventually completely replace sketch with Figma.
92/5000 The ability to work with an excellent UI design program on any platform. Its very flexible because i can work in my home computer and my job computer. On the other hand, I think that Figma should create a native version for Linux as there are many programmers who are entering the UI design world and I think it would be a very good option for those who are trying to enter the world of UI design .
Because it is web based, it can become a little slow, especially if used in a browser.
As a benefit, I think it's good because it's free and multiplatform, the business problem that solves it is that several people can work on the same project without paying excessive licenses.
Figma is a great Sketch alternative for all available platforms, including Windows as well as chrome OS. A nice thing about Figma is that it is available within the browser and is blazingly fast. Figma has a great vector editing capabilities and a team component library. We use it in our product team to rapidly prototype our interface solutions.
Limited export capability and 3rd party ecosystem integration.
Rapid prototyping, product demo, vector graphics, basic illustration design.
