They listen to customer feedback! The amount of times I have emailed to request a feature/provide feedback/ask about a process/workflow, they are on it! They listen and do everything they can to support you. I think of Wistia as a Subject Matter Expert in Video Marketing field. I look to Wistia for their annual video reports, webinars about strategy, industry topics, and analytics, etc. Constant innovation in their UI, UX adn developing new features. Not only new features, but also the "boring system upgrades" that most people don't notice but that definitely make their lives easier. Easy account administration, media editing/customization. Heavy media player customization options. Integrations with other apps. From an enterprise pricing standpoint, I feel they are one of the more affordable options that a) have advanced features and b) feel good from both a viewer and account user perspective.
Can be somewhat pricey for small to medium sized businesses depending on your usage, but the bang for buck is better than you will get anywhere else, especially when you factor in Wistia's customer support and account rep support. From an enterprise pricing standpoint, I feel they are one of the more affordable options that a) have advanced features and b) feel good from both a viewer and account user perspective.
I feel as though most of Wistia's new features and content are oriented at smaller to medium sized businesses, but they still have a lot of features for more advanced setups and larger operations.
It was a great solution when I started 10 years ago but their price has exploded, for roughly the same functionality: other solutions to look into instead https://sproutvideo.com/pricing $110 a year https://www.hippovideo.io/pricing $300 a year https://adilo.com/pricing/ $300 a year https://www.vidalytics.com/pricing About $1100 a year for 181 videos https://www.sendspark.com/pricing
Besides functionality not working as it did 5 years ago...In the past 10 years of using Wistia... storage prices have gone down, as well as cost of tech in general... But forsome reason Wistia has not lowered thier price in that time (except channels? which I never use). In fact now they've decided to increase the price 16x from what I had... without improving anything. Strange move It's Roughly $4788 per year vs. the $240 a year I had... for more or less the SAME functionality Other solutions to look into: https://sproutvideo.com/pricing $110 a year https://www.hippovideo.io/pricing $300 a year https://adilo.com/pricing/ $300 a year https://www.vidalytics.com/pricing About $1100 a year for 181 videos https://www.sendspark.com/pricing
embedding videos used on our site, sharing our portfolio for video work but not anymore... not for $300 a mo so many other solutions in the marketplace
I love that this platform is 100% reliable.
There's nothing that I don't love about it!
Wistia allows me to deliver my online classes is a dependable, reliable way. The speed at which the videos are delivered is excellent, and the content is 100% available, 100% of the time. Formerly, I delivered my videos via another platform and they were slow to play, but when I switched to Wistia, the problem was solved. Now my clients enjoyed streamed video content the is embedded in my website, complete with all my branding. I love Wistia! Further, the pricing is affordable. I can deliver content at a fraction of the cost the I was paying before. And Wistia continues to add features without raising the monthly price. The value is outstanding, and I often recommend Wistia to others. In the online learning environment, speed and dependability are key. And that's what I get with Wistia. Perfect performance at a price I can afford. Who can argue with that?
I have been a fan of Wistia and singing its praisers for over a decade. I love how it can be used to maximize video SEO (e.g. the auto-creation of a video sitemap, letting your URL as the canonical, etc.); its clean design; its analytics; the CTA capabilities; the numerous ways you can change the look and feel; and the fact that the player is easy to use. Regarding the analytics, the heat map feature provides excellent feedback on what part of a video is being watched the most, skipped, etc. Last, and certainly not least, Wistia as a company cares about the greater creative community. The education they provide and what their brand represents are bar none.
There are few things (if any) I dislike about the product itself. What I "dislike" the most is probably no different than most people: the cost. It can be costly if your traffic is high.
The biggest problem it solves is the ability to use video in a way that can maximize video SEO. Video is an excellent way to rank on Google. But when someone finds your video on a SERP, you want them to link to YOUR page, not YouTube or Vimeo (which is often the case if you use such a service. Note: is you're using Vimeo for Business, you *can* achieve some of the same video SEO benefits. But my experience is that most businesses, unless they're savvy or have savvy consultants or agencies, use regular or Plus versions).
Wistia's video playing platform is one of the most recognized online, in my opinion. A lot of really well known brands use them for their website content and I feel like it gives my small business a very legitimate and modern feel. I like being able to adjust the colors in the video player to the branding of my business, and being able to use the various annotation features for very organized video content.
I wish the starting price was more affordable, and that the post-production editing was a bit more intuitive and faster in its processing. I wish they would make the Channels feature more cost effective as well for small businesses - it seems like the price point for that is for very video-heavy companies, and not as starter friendly.
We have been able to improve the quality of our advice-based services by having a video content library that we can send clients to to go through basic learning/education in preparation for our meetings with them. We plan to continue building that out more so that we save and reduce the amount of 1-on-1 time spent explaining the same things to each client in every meeting.
We've leveraged the Data and Javascript APIs for nearly a decade. They've been reliable throughout and have addressed our needs in order to provide an embedded video experience for our user base. We embed thousands of Wistia videos throughout our product.
Block pricing for enterprise accounts can be a bit frustrating; mainly because we're paying for videos that haven't been uploaded yet. We ended up in this pricing model when Wistia made the decision to revamp their pricing model to address clients like us who were taking advantage of being a high volume, low bandwidth type of user. In a nutshell, our product allows our users to create lots of short videos (transcoded, stored, and embedded by Wistia) that people watch for a very particular use case. Our content is not designed to be watched by the many, but rather the few, and Wistia eventually realized this use case poked a whole in their original pricing model—so they modified it (understandably) to address cases like ours.
Wistia solves three core problems for us: video transcoding for multiple devices, secure video hosting, and video embeds. Wistia allowed our startup to get off the ground and running with very little upfront cost. It was of great benefit of to us because it allowed us to prove our product's value in a very difficult industry to make a dent in: healthcare. They've since reworked their business model to address high video volume, low bandwidth clients (which we are), but we're still incredibly appreciative for their affordable pricing model which has allowed us to avoid developing our own video and transcoding service.
I had a grievance with the new Wistia pricing plan, which would have increased the cost of my plan suddenly because of the way I was using the service. I have to say that Wistia has completely helped me and taken care of the problem. The technology was always good, but, it turns out, the customer service is also fantastic. Thanks Wistia!!!
I had a problem with the new pricing plan but they made an adjustment based on my feedback.
Delivering video content.
Don't get me wrong, the features are ok and no less than other video hosting providers.
Pricing is significantly higher than other solutions. The standard pricing used to include a Hubspot integration, but that has now been removed which makes the cost f a problem. Now to get the integration you have to pay an additional $299 USD (used to be all in for $100. That means you're up to $399 per month for their solution with HS. Features with HS are ok but not worth paying that much for.
