"Squarespace Review - Excellent"
What do you like best about Squarespace?

I must say right off the bat that Squarespace is one of the best website builders I've ever used. Working in the advertising industry, I've come across many websites that truly are horribly built and make it virtually impossible to promote on the marketing side. What I find truly great about Squarespace is that anyone is able to jump in and get a sophisticated, professional-looking web page regardless of the individuals skill level. There are numerous templates to choose from and can be fully customizable to fit your particular needs. In addition to having a great platform, the company helps users generate traffic to their newly built site by offering Search Engine Optimization. This one feature has helped many of my clients get their content seen by the masses and with the addition of paid advertising, they have seen their brand recognition skyrocket.

What do you dislike about Squarespace?

In terms of pricing and value, I must say that Squarespace is adequately priced. For instance, my blogging clients that are looking to promote their content on a professional web page, Squarespace charges a flat $8 per month with an annual subscription. This may not be considered low cost or acceptable, but I certainly do.

What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?

This is the subscription option that I chose for myself as well. You get a free custom domain and mobile optimized website which alone is worth the subscription fee. Businesses that are looking for unlimited pages, bandwidth and has a slew of products to sell, that will set you back $18 per month with an annual subscription. There is no long-term commitments, and you can cancel anytime. I also love that they offer a free trial to in case you're hesitant. I gave them a try and loved it and have been a customer for several months.

"Worked perfectly for my website at a fantastic price!"
What do you like best about Squarespace?

The first thing I love about Squarespace is the price. I decided to make my own website for my acting/modeling career and Squarespace allowed me to keep my startup costs very low because their prices are so affordable. I also love that you don't have to be a web designer to use their templates and make a good-looking website.

What do you dislike about Squarespace?

As I said, I'm not a website designer, so I was limiited to the templates they had available. Squarespace does a nice job providing multiple options, but it would always be great to have more customizable choices and more templates to fit the look I'm going for. I was definitley satisfied with what I got for the price, but it did kind of feel like my website was a bit "cookie cutter" looking compared to what I had seen other people produced who recommended Squarespace to me. That being said, I feel like what i got for the price I paid was well worth it for me.

What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?

Biggest problem I solved with Squarespace was making my own website without spending a ton of money. I had never done anything like this before, so it was awesome to get something so cheap that looks so good! I've also realized that it's not nearly as hard as it sounds to create a platform for your business if you have the right tools. It made me feel much more professional being able to link my website to my emails, have a website with all of my images to send to prospective agents or provide during casting calls, and to market myself on my own as well. I had never considered building a website before until a good friend of mine recommended I try Squarespace and I'm very glad I did.

"Changes plans and terms without notice, causing increased expenses."
What do you like best about Squarespace?

Beautiful, easy to use web templates and WYSIWYG editor that's easy to hand off to clients as a finished product.

What do you dislike about Squarespace?

Squarespace is privately held, which normally means its a good company to work with. However, in this case, it means they have no telephone support, higher pricing than the publicly held competitor (godaddy) and manipulate their product offerings and pricing plans frequently in such a way that they've become an unreliable business partner. I would flat-out not recommend doing business with Squarespace under any circumstances.

What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not applicable. Originally, I had begun a relationship with Squarespace as I build simple websites for clients, then hand over the logins to the client and move on. Unfortunately, Squarespace decided, without notice, to put up a pay wall, moving dozens of important features into a higher priced product tier without notice, and without care for the impact it would have on those customers. This change increases their cost by approximately 40%. Great for them, not so great for their fellow small business customers.

"Beginner Friendly "
What do you like best about Squarespace?

Easy to use and if you ever run into a problem the techs are always there to help. I didn’t know anything about making a website but everything you need is listed. They have different pricing for whatever your website is for and you can upgrade at any time.

What do you dislike about Squarespace?

You have to pay for the abandoned cart and the amount of discount codes that’s available. I feel like the abandoned cart should come with all the commerce. It’s gets a bit pricey.

What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?

Security, I haven’t ran into any major problems.

"Very happy with quality for the price"
What do you like best about Squarespace?

Very happy with the learning curve and tools for the price. Pretty happy with add-ons for lists and products. They are continually releasing new tools but doesn't feel like I constantly have to pay more.

What do you dislike about Squarespace?

Wish I didn't have to show prices for my products. Wish they would expand their API to include image galleries. Couldn't transfer a 7.0 site to 7.1 without recreating. Wish I could print mailing labels without needing to buy postage through them.

What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?

Making high quality websites cheaper and easier for small businesses like myself. I don't need an expensive industry-specific websites. (Used to have to pay $4000 for a basic template site catered to my industry).

"Squarespace is a great, easy to use and cost-effective solution"
What do you like best about Squarespace?

I really like using Squarespace because I do not need to know how to code in order to build a beautiful website. I can also make edits at any time very easily, without involving a developer. Not to mention, Sqaurespace is very reasonably priced. Overall, you can customize as much or little as needed.

What do you dislike about Squarespace?

At times finding the perfect template can be a time consuming process but with the many options available, you are bound to find an option that looks fantastic and functions with ease. I am not certain on the level of safety, especially when collecting information via forms and processing e-commerce payments.

What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's quick solution that doesn't require weeks of web development and generally low cost. Squarespace is also a great option for a simple landing page or temporary solution. I also use Squarespace for my personal portfolio.

"You will be surprised at what you can create."
What do you like best about Squarespace?

I consider myself a creative individual, but I cannot code or make a website. Unless, its a drawing of a website. Since I am doing my masters in Advertising (Creative Track), for me having a portfolio of my copy writing and strategic skills was highly significant. I have tried other website and portfolio building tools, but squarespace makes the job easier for you. All the templates are incredibly professional and you can re-arrange and personalize them accordingly as well. They help accentuate your work in a highly professional manner giving your work a good publicity and a killer layout. SquareSpace also offers a very reasonable pricing for students, only $60 dollars for the entire year which I believe is totally worth what they deliver. Aside from that, SquareSpace helps you individually design your own space, and you do not have to rely on third-parties (web designers / coders) which can cost you time and money. Lastly, I believe the visual experiences are undeniably rich, causing us to believe SquareSpace is targeting a unique segment of users such as designers and portfolio driven websites and future employers who are looking for such work.

What do you dislike about Squarespace?

What I dislike about Square Space, is that even though everything is there and there is a variety of options to choose from, some tools are difficult to use and the user has to watch tutorials in order to effectively operate them. Sometimes square space feels very minimalistic, and can take some time to work efficiently with the editor unless you are completely familiar. The speed could be more faster as well.

What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?

I like how SquareSpace provides employers or portfolio viewers with a space which they can navigate through easily. It also helps small business, make websites without the hassles of contacting coders or web-designers in reasonable pricing and make a website which they can design according to their preferences. I worked as a social media manager for a small Ice Cream Craft startup, who made her entire website on square space, without any prior web-design training and saved time making it. It is now her part website, part blog.

"Stunning templates for entrepreneurs "
What do you like best about Squarespace?

I used Squarespace to create a landing page for my start up. Squarespace reduces the costs of creating an online presence for a new business, since there is no need to pay for custom backend development. The biggest pro of Squarespace is that the end results are beautiful, thanks to the templates and built-in library of images and logos. It is well within the reach of someone with no graphic or web design background to create a professional-looking site. Very impressed overall.

What do you dislike about Squarespace?

The use of a template does naturally reduce the customisability of the site. For some purposes, it will be necessary to hire a developer to create add-ons.

What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?

Squarespace is very cost-effective, since you can create a professional-looking website without hiring a professional. The template approach means that there is no need to pay a developer, which has reduced the early costs of starting a business.
